Harrison Hughes was a second-generation WSC student who majored in Mechanical Engineering. He joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1940, fought during the Japanese invasion of the Philippines, and became a prisoner of war in 1942. He was killed by friendly
Horace Corbett Jr. grew up on an Oregon cattle ranch before enrolling at WSC from 1940-41. A fighter pilot in the U.S. Army Air Forces, Corbett was killed over southern Germany on January 6, 1944.
George Davidson was a star athlete and student leader at WSC before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1943. He was killed in action at Zweibrücken in March 1945.
