John Dewey Sherman was born on August 12th,1924, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended WSC from 1942-1943 and enlisted in the US Army Air Force. He was killed July 7th, 1944 at the rank of Technical Sergeant while flying over Cambridge, England in a B17.
Howard Simmons Jr., born 27th December,1920, in Fargo, North Dakota attended WSC between 1939 and 1943 before enlisting in the US Army. He was killed in action in France on November 23rd 1944.
Gerald Eugene Mohr, born on May 20th, 1922, in Colfax, Washington attended WSC between 1939 and 1943 where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music. He enlisted in the military in 1943 with his ROTC Band and died of a heart attack in 1943.
Willard James Gress, born January 5, 1920, was a chemical engineering major at WSC until he enlisted in the US Army Air Corps in December 1941. Assigned to the 415th Night Fighter Squadron, he died in a plane crash April 17, 1943 at RAF Tinwood, England.

Grenville Neil Porter was born February 15, 1915 and attended high school in Tacoma. He graduated from Washington State College on June 1, 1941, then joined the Army. He was killed on a Japanese transport ship on September 7, 1944.
