Born on July 16, 1920, Elson Cameron Daggett, Jr. graduated from Washington State College in 1943. Joining the Army after graduation, he was killed in action near Uchitumari on Okinawa on April 8, 1945.
Born on July 25, 1920, Robert Mitchell Ford attended Washington State College from 1938 to 1939. He joined the Army in 1944, and was killed by sniper fire on Okinawa on May 27, 1945.
John Elwood Gay, born March 22, 1915, graduated from Washington State College in 1939. A Major in the Army Air Corps, he was killed when his plane went down near Iwo Jima on March 8, 1945.
William Hodge Jett was born September 23, 1920 and graduated from Wenatchee High School. He attended Washington State College for one year. He enlisted in the US Navy, and was part of the Seabees. He was killed in action November 4, 1943.
Born June 22, 1919, Orville Austin Kirtland grew up in Pullman and attended Washington State College for three years. He joined the Army Air Corps, and he was shot down on July 11, 1942 near Port Moresby. His body was not recovered.
Lewis David Julian was born on August 24,1912 in Frederick, Kansas. He attended Washington State College (WSC) from 1930-1931. Commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army, he died November 24, 1943 from wounds received near Salerno, Italy.
The WSC Music Education major from Colville participated in the Battle of Tarawa (November 1943) with the United States Marines before suffering mortal wounds in the landing at Saipan in June 1944. He received a posthumous Silver Star for his leadership
