John Dewey Sherman was born on August 12th,1924, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended WSC from 1942-1943 and enlisted in the US Army Air Force. He was killed July 7th, 1944 at the rank of Technical Sergeant while flying over Cambridge, England in a B17.
Howard Simmons Jr., born 27th December,1920, in Fargo, North Dakota attended WSC between 1939 and 1943 before enlisting in the US Army. He was killed in action in France on November 23rd 1944.
Carl John Erickson, born in 1915, attended WSC from 1933-1937, graduating with a degree in Agricultural Business. A Flight Officer in the US Army Air Corps, he was killed when the glider he was piloting went down over the Mediterranean on May 12, 1943.
Frank Waldner, born January 7, 1919, attended WSC from 1939 to 1943 and graduated with a BS in Forestry. Serving as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps, he was killed in France on January 23, 1945 while on night patrol.
William Schildroth, born November 16, 1899, was stationed at WSC from 1929-1933 as an officer for the ROTC program. Commander of the US Army 133rd Infantry Reg, 34th Infantry Div, he died near Mangona, Italy September 17, 1944.
John Otto Roeder, born June 22, 1924, attended WSC from September 1942 to February 1943. He was part of the 10th Mountain Division (Ski Troops) and fought in Italy. He went missing on a night patrol and his date of death was recorded as April 16, 1945.
William "Bill" Roberts, Jr., born August 8, 1918, attended WSC from 1937-1941 studying civil engineering. A fighter pilot in the 52nd fighting group, 5th fighters squadron, he was killed over Camino, Italy during a dogfight on February 19, 1944.
William "Bill" Ritchie, born April 20, 1919, attended WSC from 1936-1939 as a Business Admin major. Part of the 563rd Bomb Squad of the 388th Bomb Group, he was a B-17 Bombardier. His plane went down after a bombing run over Hamburg, July 25, 1943.
Roy Clinton Kohler, born February 28, 1918, attended WSC for one semester in the fall of 1938. A Staff Sergeant in the US Army Air Force, he went missing-in-action in July 1944 over France. Believed to be a POW, his remains were never found.
Frank Robbins Moran, born May 28, 1921, attended WSC in the fall of 1939 before transferring. A First Lieutenant and paratrooper, he landed at Normandy and was killed in action on June 15, 1944 near Amfreville, France.
