Damascus, born September 30, 1922, graduated from WSC in 1943 with a degree in civil engineering. Entering the U.S. Army Air Corp as a Lieutenant after graduation, he was killed in action in Northern France on August 22, 1944.
Costley, born June 14, 1925, attended WSC as a chemical engineering major for his freshman year. Enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps, he was promoted to Sergeant. He was shot down over Celle, Germany on April 7, 1945.
Clumpner, born July 16, 1915, graduated from WSC in 1943 with bachelor's degrees in mining engineering and geology. A second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps, he was killed when his plane went down in the North Sea, May 24, 1944.
Bishop, born May 5, 1923, attended Washington State College from 1940-1943 as a speech major. A bombardier on a B-24 Liberator, he was killed when his routine training flight crashed in the California desert, July 2, 1944.
Adams, born April 16, 1920, attended Washington State College from 1939-1941. A First Lieutenant and combat pilot in the US Army Air Corps, he was reported MIA on September 2, 1943 in the Pacific Theatre. His body was never found.
